The Hyundai Kona is a small crossover SUV that can be had in 6 different trim levels. The base engine for the Kona is a 2.0L 4-cylinder with 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes standard on the SE, SEL, and Limited models while it’s optional on Premium and Ultimate models. All other engines come standard only on the Ultimate model.

These include a turbocharged 1.6L 4-cylinder with 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, as well as two plug in hybrid options: one using an electric motor to power the front wheels (Eco) while another uses an electric motor to power both front wheels plus a gas powered engine powering the rear wheels (Lite). Our focus is on the Kona SEL 2.0L gasoline-powered automatic with AWD where it’s making 179 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, as well as featuring an 8 speed automatic transmission.
